China’s Zhong Lun Law Firm has hired Xu Changrong as a new partner for its Beijing headquarters. Xu Changrong was formerly a senior consultant with the Beijing office of Texas firm Baker Botts. A corporate lawyer who advises on mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment, especially in the energy sector, Xu also acts on overseas listings for Chinese companies. He joined Baker Botts as associate in 2007. Prior to that, he was associate at Chinese law firms Seafront Law Office and the former King & Wood.

Amarchand Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co has appointed Ajit Warrier as partner in the litigation practice of its New Delhi office effective 23 June 2013. He brings a wide range of litigation and arbitration experience which he has acquired over the last two decades. Prior to his appointment, Warrier was formerly with Luthra & Luthra Law Offices as partner in the dispute resolution team. An NLSIU Bangalore (Batch 1993) alumnus, Warrier has represented clients in leading litigation matters and arbitrations involving contractual, corporate and commercial disputes, infrastructure and engineering disputes, debts recovery laws, consumer litigation, family disputes, writ petitions and property related litigation.

Duane Morris & Selvam has announced that Ung Gim Sei has joined its constituent firm Selvam in Singapore. The addition of Ung as a director grows the capacity of the corporate practice in Singapore, particularly in intellectual property matters. He brings with him a wealth of experience, with more than 10 years of private practice in Singapore. Ung focuses on intellectual property matters, including trademark applications and infringement, internet and media law. He is a regular contributor to the Chinese Singapore daily newspaper on legal topics, including cyber defamation. Prior to practicing law, Ung spent 27 years in the media industry.

Duane Morris & Selvam has hired former RHTLaw Taylor Wessing partner Ung Gim Sei as a new director. Ung Gim Sei specializes in intellectual property matters, including trademark applications, infringement issues, and media and Internet law matters. He was part of the group of 17 partners who left Singapore firm KhattarWong in 2011 to set up RHT Law, which merged a year later with Anglo-German firm Taylor Wessing. Ung joined KhattarWong as partner in 2007 from now-defunct T M Hoon & Co.
