Gigi Cheah and Justin Davidson have been appointed to Norton Rose Hong Kong's intellectual property, communications, media and technology practice team. Cheah is a non-contentious intellectual property and technology lawyer specializing in licensing, outsourcing, data privacy, life science, technology procurement, commercial work and telecommunication broadcastings and competition matters. Davidson's practice focuses on both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters. He specializes in transactional, intellectual property prosecution and dispute resolution, exploitation and advisory IP work. Both Cheah and Davidson join Norton Rose from DLA Piper's Hong Kong office.

Simon Tay was appointed to a senior consultant position at WongPartnership LLP. Tay is well known for his work in environmental law and international public law, specializing in political and economic issues. He advises multinational corporations on their regional business investments and environmental sustainability matters. In addition, he has advised governments on international law matters. Tay is the chairman of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) and an international law and public policy teacher at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law and the LKY School of Public Policy. He previously taught at Harvard Law School, Yale University and the Fletch School of Law and Diplomacy.

Corporate lawyer Xiang Yang Ge has been appointed to Head of Projects in China at the Mayer Brown JSM Beijing office. Xiang is a prominent corporate attorney with 20 years of experience representing international investors doing business in China and advising Chinese enterprises on outbound foreign investments. As Xiang focuses on M&A in oil and gas, renewable energy and mining industries, his most recent deals include a Chinese oil company's US$2.5 billion acquisition of oil and gas assets in 11 jurisdictions. He also advised a major Chinese mining company on its proposed acquisition of a public Australian mining company.
