*On July 28th, AABA will be hosting Happy Hour for the launch of the new Public Law/Private Service Committee of the Asian American Bar Association. The new service committee will try and bring together public interest and government attorneys from the Bay area.
There is a $10 cover charge will be collected from non-public law/public service attorneys to benefit the AABA Foundation, which provides scholarships to law students with accomplishment and commitment to the Asian community. There is free admission for Public Law/Public Service attorneys as well as all law students. There will also be complimentary appetizers and drinks will be 50% off during the entire event.

*On July 30th, Volunteer Legal Services Program's Legal Advice and Referral Clinic will provide 10-15 minute legal services to low-income clients in varies areas of the law. They are looking for experienced attorneys (attorneys with 5+ years of experience in an area) in the following areas: Bankruptcy, Business/Contracts, Civil, Collection Defense, Criminal, Employment/Labor, Family, General Consumer, Immigration, Landlord Tenant, Personal Injury, Probate, Real Estate, SSI, and/or Workers Comp. They are also looking for up to 8 people to conduct intake interviews and 2 interpreters each for Spanish, Cantonese, and Mandarin. If you have less than 5 years in the specific area or are new to the area, but are still interested in volunteering, please let Hung Chang know at your convenience so we can make a case- by-case assessment about your eligibility. Space is limited, so please let me know as soon as you can commit to the date.

*On September 17th, The AABA Community Services Committee and the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy are joining together to restore the coastal native habitat at Lands End in San Francisco. Fellow attorneys and law students are urged to come out and contribute in the efforts to protect sensitive natural habitat and help preserve important cultural resources.
